From Middle English undōn, from Old English ondōn, from Proto-Germanic *andadōną(“to undo”), equivalent to un- +‎ do. Cognate with West Frisian ûndwaan, ûntdwaan(“to undo; rid”), Dutch ontdoen(“to undo”).
