In addition to the separated Author-paper-concept network and Inventor-patent-technology network, Publication-patent network has the following connections:

1. After identifying authors and inventors, new connections between authors and patents, and also between inventors and papers can be established.
2. Papers cite patents, patents cite papers.

If further equipped with the input-output table from economics, which is a network of relation among papers with the producing relation, and data on product development, which is a network of the relation between product and papers and between product and patents, this network become the Publication-patent-economics network.
